The Madison House is excited to be starting a new decade embracing the concept of Community Healing. In partnership with Healers for Liberation we will host our first Community Healing Day in the spring. The event will offer a space for Black & Brown people to come and receive the healing work they need but often go without. Co-pays, bills, or just, LIFE, can leaves us never having the “right” amount of money at the right time to invest in healing. Together, we will remove these limitations by hosting healers to create space for others to receive healing. Living life as a humanitarian is about meeting someone along the way and sharing with them tools to continue forward. Your financial contribution can go a long way in the life of someone choosing to receive healing for themselves. Community Healing Day Offerings
The significance of sound, and its important role in supporting human spirit and our physical, mental and emotional health, has been well known through the generations. Our ancestors practiced sound and vibration therapy to resonate with the body’s energy centers or chakras and support optimal health. It is believed that crystal singing bowls produce a vibrational sound that resonates with the chakra of your body. A series of pure crystal bowl therapy is said to help rebalance your body to optimal health. This therapy is believed to transmit energy to your aura and directly affect your brain wave activity, supporting an improved state of consciousness. Various alternative health practitioners believe that crystal singing bowls are powerful tools that can help heal mental and physical ailments.
Emotional Emancipation Circle Emotional
Emancipation Circles (EECs) are evidence-informed, psychologically sound, culturally grounded, and community-defined self-help support groups designed to help heal the trauma caused by anti-Black racism. In EECs, we share stories; deepen our understanding of the impact of historical forces on our sense of self-worth, our relationships, and our communities; and learn essential emotional wellness skills to help us be at our best as individuals and as a people Massage Therapy The healing power of touch has been known and practiced since earliest times. Massage therapy can improve a person’s emotional health by reducing stress and stress hormones; by increasing serotonin and thereby reducing depression and pain; and by enhancing immune function and thereby reducing bacterial and viral illnesses. Massage is not just a way to gain stress relief, you can reduce many of the other unpleasant emotions in your life as well. Many studies show that massage therapy reduces negative mood states like depression, anxiety, and anger and their associated stress hormones.
Spiritual Bath Workshop
The beauty of a spiritual bath is the unity it brings to your body and your spirit. Not only does it cleanse the negative energies from your soul, it rejuvenates your body by performing its sacred tasks on your actual skin and bone. It’s a beautiful experience, start to finish. Keeping your aura clean is very essential as before any illness develops in your body physically, it contaminates your aura. Thus, if you keep your energy field clean, you will be safeguarded from potential illnesses as well.
Spiritual Life Coaching
A spiritual life coach is a coach that helps you change your life by changing the way you operate on a deeper level. Rather than just examining your behaviors, habits, and goals, they delve into your deep rooted beliefs, your connection to the divine, and find yourself again. They show you how to work with the laws of the universe to get what you actually want out of life instead of just accepting whatever comes your way. Spiritual life coaches are people who live by spiritual principles and not the just every day logic and societal conventions. You don’t have to be religious to work with a spiritual life coach – you just have to be open to deepening your connection with the nonphysical part of yourself, your soul.

Research has revealed that the more often people eat with others the more likely they are to feel happy and satisfied with their lives. Communal eating increases social bonding and feelings of wellbeing, and enhances one’s sense of contentedness and embedding within the community. This meditation will help you learn to handle food cravings with greater awareness and intention. Mindful eating is a practice that allows us to tune in to the body’s needs and be thoughtful about how we nourish ourselves. By fully appreciating a food’s flavors and textures and being in the moment while eating, we open ourselves up to a deeper level of enjoyment, and it becomes easier to make better choices.
Social support, whether from a trusted group or valued individual, has been shown to reduce the psychological and physiological consequences of stress, and may enhance immune function. Social networks, whether formal (such as a church or social club) or informal (meeting with friends) provide a sense of belonging, security, and community. In fact, social support is now proven to be a literal life-saver. People that are supported by close relationships with friends, family, or fellow members of church, work, or other support groups are less vulnerable to ill health and premature death.
